Never mind the 12 days of Christmas, here’s a dozen times Regenex had reason to celebrate in 2025.
From targets hit to jobs done well, we’re taking a moment to reflect.
What a year! And it’s not even over yet…
- Back in January we elevated the concept of thrift as a way of life, writing at length about our ideas on the Cleaning and Maintenance Online website! We still think that looking after linen is the only way forward for our laundry customers.
- Most of our work comes from reviving whites but back in the Spring we celebrated 30 tonnes of overdyeing work – mainly towels – as reported by Laundry and Cleaning News International and others. We didn’t know then that our services with colour were about to take off in a VERY different direction.
- Our staff at Regenex are highly prized so we were delighted when Laundry and Cleaning Today magazine wanted to do a profile of our apprentice, Brandon, and the guidance he receives from our technical director, Paul Hamilton. You can relive that interview in full on our blog.
- Another month, another milestone and this time it was 2,000 tonnes of whites revived, as covered by Laundry and Cleaning Today and others. That’s the same weight as 13 blue whales, six Boeing 747 jets or two cargo ships.
- We launched our recolouring options for workwear – on a mission to keep items such as faded-out but still tough and serviceable black chef trousers in circulation for much, much longer. Our ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures of lacklustre brown trousers sent back to black spoke for themselves.
- Our innovative ideas and processes continued to be recognised nationally and once again we were nominated and subsequently shortlisted for a prestigious accolade at the Laundry and Drycleaning Awards. Hey, we didn’t win when the ceremony came around in November but we were up there with the sector’s finest.
- Things took a turn for us when we got involved in overdyeing highly fashionable, vintage cotton clothing for a lively and forward-thinking customer, a story picked up in Textile World. Those garments are now retailing across the country and we can’t wait to see what happens next in this exciting diversion from our core business.
- Back in thought leader mode, our technical director Paul was asked to provide a very long read on the idea of cleaning as a superpower in the drive for circularity by Cleaning Matters magazine. A few months on, we’re still really proud of this one, as we continue to spread the word and fuel important conversations.
- Ever analytical – well, we are scientists at heart – we took some time out to consider the effect of chlorine on towels and what this means for the hospitality industry, particularly the gym and health club chains that we service. We talked about this on the blog.
- We love to share case studies about jobs done well for our customers and were particularly proud of the story of how we worked together with Super Laundry on an innovative, two-pronged approach to linen revival that scored some very high returns.
- At Regenex we talk a lot about sustainability – that’s the real driver for why 20 plus UK laundries are now working with us regularly. However we also keep an eye on other industry trends – none more so than the rising costs faced by the sector. We like to talk about the latest figures on our blog and ask our customers, what does this mean for you?
- It’s nearly Christmas, so having got the heavy business of Extended Producer Responsibility and what this means for UK laundries out of the way, we revised our old mascot Neville the Napkin to see how things have changed since we first introduced him to the hospitality world three years ago. Watch out for Neville on LinkedIn this week.
We hope you enjoyed our look back as much as we did putting it together.
And once 2025 is complete, we can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store for Regenex and all our friends and family.
