Regenex expands in Wales with quartet of laundry customers

Healthcare and hospitality linen stain removal specialist Regenex has doubled its presence in Wales within a year, onboarding two new laundry customers.

West Coast Cleaning and Linen and Solo Laundry and Linen Services are the latest contract laundry groups to use Bradford-based Regenex, to help them get the most out of every piece of linen – conserving the world’s resources and saving money.

West Coast Cleaning is in Ceredigion and serves the Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire areas, whereas Solo has bases in Port Talbot and Haverfordwest, and covers Bristol, Bath, and the west of England as well as west Wales.

They join Thomsons Laundry – also in Haverfordwest – and Snow White Laundries in Cardiff and Pontypool who became customers in 2021, and co-ordinate to share transport costs and carbon between Wales and West Yorkshire.

Hannah Deacon, owner of West Coast Cleaning, said: “We set our standards high and are keen to save carbon. Working with Regenex is one way we can make a big difference, avoiding both unnecessary textile waste and excessive ordering of new stock.”

Adele O’Rourke BA, business manager for Solo Laundry and Linen services, commented: “We’re immensely proud of the business we’ve created and take our environmental commitments very seriously.

“We supply quality products and an exceptional service and a big part of that is looking after our linens properly and maximising their time in circulation.”

Paul Hamilton, technical director at Regenex, said: “We’re delighted to have expanded in Wales in this way and we’re proud to be servicing four key players in the sector.

“Across the UK and Ireland, we now have a portfolio of more than 20 contract laundry groups using our services – and minimising their impact on the planet as a result.

“As more laundry owners and managers catch-on to the all-round benefits of keeping every towel, sheet, tablecloth, and item of workwear in circulation for as long as possible, demand for our treatments is increasing.”

Regenex is able to remove up to 80% of the heaviest staining – be that through dirt, rust, make-up, false tan, chemicals, mould, rust, or food – and return linen to stock that would otherwise have to be condemned to landfill or rag.

Increases in the cost of cotton and shipping, as well as disruption to markets, have been an additional factor in laundries’ decisions to turn to Regenex within the last 12 months.
