Regenex’s workwear recolouring options are now available

Linen rescue specialist Regenex has launched its new workwear colour top-up service following successful trials.

The company has devised lower-temperature dyeing processes to restore faded colour to tough uniforms, extending their lifespan.

The option is now available following enquiries from customers, and will help laundry industry efforts to minimise volumes of textile waste heading for the bin.

Some estimates report 33 million items of corporate uniforms are manufactured for UK use each year, with 90% ending up in landfill – where they can take 200 years to biodegrade.

While hard-wearing polycotton items are designed to be long-lasting, faded colour after washing can often limit their time in service – causing employers to replace items that would otherwise be wearable for much longer.

Paul Hamilton, technical director at Regenex, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this service and we expect it to be popular.

“Knowing that Regenex is available to top up faded colour if required will give laundry owners and managers the confidence to buy tough, good quality uniforms that will go on and on.”
